Change of Status from Minor to Major:


Appointment/Change in Guardian

For requesting an Appointment / change in the Guardian either due to mutual consent or demise of an existing Guardian, the new guardian would be required to furnish the following documents:-

  • Request Letter from the new Guardian;
  • No Objection Letter or Consent Letter from the existing Guardian or the Court Order appointing the new Guardian;
  • Photo copy of the Death Certificate of the deceased guardian duly Notarized OR Attested by a Special Executive Magistrate / AMC authorised Official / Manager of a Scheduled Commercial Bank;
  • Document evidencing the relationship of the Guardian with the Minor viz. Birth Certificate of the Minor, School Leaving Certificate / Mark sheet issued by Higher Secondary Board of respective states, ICSE, CBSE etc, Passport of the Minor or any other suitable proof evidencing the relationship of the Guardian with the Minor. In case of Court appointed legal guardian, document evidencing the same should be submitted.
  • Bank attestation of the Signature of Guardian in a Bank Account of the Minor where the new guardian is registered as the Guardian; and
  • KYC Acknowledgement Letter of the New Guardian

Note:
Only Natural (i.e Father or Mother) or a Court Appointed legal Guardian are permitted to be appointed as a Guardian.


Appointment of Nominee

If the Unit holder/s wishes to add or change the nominee(s), all he/she needs to do is submit a duly filled and signed Nomination Form at the Official Point of Acceptance nearest to you.

Note:

  • Nomination shall be maintained at the Folio/Account Level and shall be applicable for all investments for all Schemes in such Folio/Account;
  • In case of Joint Holders, even if the mode of holding is not Joint, nomination form should be signed by all Joint Holders;
  • Every new nomination for a Folio/Account will overwrite the existing nomination;
  • Nomination not permitted in case of units held on behalf of Minor.

Transmission of Units

In case of demise of Unitholder the following documents depending upon the category as stated hereunder needs to be submitted:

Transmission to surviving Unitholders in case of Death of one or more Unitholders:

  • Letter from surviving Unitholders to the Fund / AMC/RTA requesting for transmission of Units under the specified Folio/Account;
  • Photo Copy of Death Certificate duly notarized or attested by Gazette officer or a Bank Manager along with the bank stamp, Signatory Full Name, Designation & Employee Code.
  • Confirmation of Bank Account Details and signature attestation of the New First Unitholder in the format duly attested by a Bank Manager with the bank stamp, Signatory Full Name, Designation & Employee Code
  • KYC Acknowledgement Letter of the surviving unitholders, if not already available.
  • In case surviving unit holder PAN is not verified by KYC Registration Agency (KRA), kindly submit the KYC form duly filled and signed along with relevant mandatory documentary proof and In- Person verification. (For more information in this regard, please read "INSTRUCTIONS/CHECK LIST FOR FILLING KYC FORM" detailed on the reversed side of the KYC form. Transmission to registered nominee(s) in case of death of Sole or All Unitholders:

  • Letter from the Claimant Nominee(s) to the Fund/AMC/RTA requesting for transmission of Units under the specified Folio/Account;
  • Photo Copy of Death Certificate duly notarized or attested by Gazette Officer or a Bank Manager with the bank stamp, Signatory Full Name, Designation & Employee Code
  • Confirmation of Bank Account Details and signature attestation of the registered Nominee in the format duly attested by a Bank Manager with the bank stamp, Signatory Full Name, Designation & Employee Code
  • KYC Acknowledgement Letter of the registered nominee ; and
  • In case surviving unit holder PAN is not verified by KYC Registration Agency (KRA), kindly submit the KYC form duly filled and signed along with relevant mandatory documentary proof and In- Person verification. (For more information in this regard, please read "INSTRUCTIONS/CHECK LIST FOR FILLING KYC FORM" detailed on the reversed side of the KYC form. Transmission to Claimant(s) where nominee is not registered, in case of death of Sole or All Unitholders:

  • Letter from claimant(s) to the Fund / AMC / RTA requesting transmission of units under the specified Folio/Account;
  • Photo Copy of Death Certificate(s) duly notarized or attested by gazette officer or a bank manager along with the bank stamp, Signatory Full Name, Designation & Employee Code
  • Confirmation of Bank Account Details and signature attestation of the Claimant/Legal Heir in the format duly attested by a Bank Manager with the bank stamp, Signatory Full Name, Designation & Employee Code
  • KYC Acknowledgement Letter of the claimant(s),
  • In case surviving unit holder PAN is not verified by KYC Registration Agency (KRA), kindly submit the KYC form duly filled and signed along with relevant mandatory documentary proof and In- Person verification. (For more information in this regard, please read "INSTRUCTIONS/CHECK LIST FOR FILLING KYC FORM" detailed on the reversed side of the KYC form. The said KYC form can be download from our website http://principalindia.com/downloads-forms.aspx.
  • Indemnity Bond from legal heir(s) on stamp paper of Rs.200/-
  • Individual Affidavits from legal heir(s) on a stamp paper of Rs.300/-; and
  • If the transmission amount is below Rupees Two Lakh: any appropriate document evidencing relationship of the claimant/s with the deceased unitholder/s.

If the transmission amount is Rs Two Lakh or more: Any one of the documents mentioned below:

  1. Notarised copy of Probated Will, or
  2. Legal Heir Certificate or Succession Certificate or Claimant's Certificate issued by a competent court, or
  3. Letter of Administration, in case of Intestate Succession.

*Please note that, in case the claimant/legal Heir submits any document mentioned under (a) to (c), then the Indemnity Bond as mentioned above would not be required.

Transmission in case of HUF, due to death of Karta:

  • Letter Requesting for change of Karta;
  • Photo Copy of the Death Certificate duly notarized or attested by Gazette Officer or a Bank Manager along with the bank stamp, Signatory Full Name, Designation & Employee Code
  • Confirmation of Bank Account Details and signature attestation of new Karta have been appended in the bank account of the HUF, in the format duly attested by a Bank Manager with the bank stamp, Signatory Full Name, Designation & Employee Code
  • KYC of the new Karta and KYC of HUF, if not already available; and
  • In case surviving unit holder PAN is not verified by KYC Registration Agency (KRA), kindly submit the KYC form duly filled and signed along with relevant mandatory documentary proof and In- Person verification. (For more information in this regard, please read "INSTRUCTIONS/CHECK LIST FOR FILLING KYC FORM" detailed on the reversed side of the KYC form.   • Indemnity Bond signed by all the surviving coparceners and new Karta on stamp paper of Rs.200/-

In case of no surviving co-parceners and the transmission amount is Rs Two Lakh or more OR where there is an objection from any surviving members of the HUF, transmission shall be effected only on the basis of any of the following mandatory documents:

  • Notarized copy of Settlement Deed, or
  • Notarized copy of Deed of Partition, or
  • Notarized copy of Decree of the relevant competent Court

Note:

  • In addition to this, investors are requested to note that we shall not accept any "Transmission-cum-Redemption Request" and shall first accept and process the request for transmission of units with proper documentation and thereafter accept and process the redemption request.
  • Where the units are to be transferred to a Claimant who is a Minor, various documents like KYC, PAN, Bank Details, Indemnity should be of the Guardian of such minor Claimant.
